[Event] Cardiff University Nigerian students visit the National Museum of Wales…

Last month, the International office organised a cultural day out for our Nigerian agent, Mrs Deve Omiunu who was visiting Cardiff University.

Our Nigerian students were invited to join us on our trip to Saint Fagan’s National History Museum (an outdoor Folk Museum of Welsh Life) for an afternoon of culture in the delightful grounds. St Fagan’s is one of our popular organised trips available to new students upon their arrival to Cardiff during induction week.

You can find out more information about this wonderful 'living' museum at:

During the trip, Deve and the students enjoyed a day of pottery making, dressing up in traditional costumes, taking part in a school reconstruction from the 19th century, visiting the castle and its grounds, and sampling Welsh delicacies such as bara brith (a Welsh type of bread) and cakes.

The trip was a great success, organised by Rhian Curtis, Senior International Officer who recently joined the International Office team and has country management responsibility for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Please view some photos of the trip and highlights of St Fagans through our FlickR stream below…
