[Event] 2010 – Cardiff University hosts its biggest Go Global Festival of Culture and Diversity

This popular, annual event in our students’ calendar has grown year upon year since the idea was created 7 years ago. The Go Global event is organised by the University’s Student’s Union to showcase the diversity and various cultures of our student body, where each year we receive fantastic support and input from a large number the international societies.

This year we saw a record number of guests attend Go Global with over 900 students enjoying the colourful celebrations and performances, including a preview of Act One’s forthcoming production of Footloose, a performance by Cardiff University Dancesport and many impressive performances by the international societies.

Carys Hazell, Societies, Events and Activities Officer, said: “I am delighted with the success of this year’s Global Village. Global Village has gone on to become one of the most exciting and meaningful events in the student calendar.

“Global Village enabled us to celebrate the diversity and amazing talents of the student body in a fun and imaginative way and we really are indebted to the hard work of all the societies that made the event possible.”
